From March 18 to April 7, March Madness for both the men’s and women’s teams took place with the final for the women on April 6 and the men on April 7. In the men’s final four, Florida got past Auburn, 79-73. Walter Clayton of Florida scored 34 points, Alijah Martin of Florida had 17 points, and Johni Broome of Auburn had 15 points. On the other side, Houston was down 14 with 8:17 left and they came back to win. LJ Cryer had 26 points, and Cooper Flagg had 27 points. In the end, Florida defeated Houston 65-63 for the men’s national title. On the women’s side, the University of Connecticut defeated the University of South Carolina 82-59, for their first national championship since 2016.

In our March Madness surveys, prior to the tournament, almost 60% of students thought Duke would win, while 15% thought Florida would win. Almost 40% of faculty thought that Duke would win, while almost 30% thought that Florida would win. Unfortunately, Brunswick missed the mark!
